Scholarships

Thanks to the generous support of FAR donors, FAR offers scholarship opportunities to individuals and families facing financial difficulties. The application process is anonymous and strictly confidential.

Scholarship Application

Please submit scholarship applications to:
scholarships@FAR-therapy.org

Fax: 248.646.4480

or mail to the office:
1669 West Maple Rd.
Birmingham, MI 48009

Scholarships funds are limited and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so apply early.

To be good stewards of scholarship donations, FAR is obligated to consider the attendance of former recipients. Two or more absences in a previous semester may disqualify a scholarship application.

The annual registration fee of $50 must be paid prior to the first session and is not covered by scholarships.  However, FAR may be able to help applicants who are facing extreme financial duress. To discuss this possibility, please contact Pamela Ayres in the FAR office when submitting the scholarship application.

Please Support FAR’s Scholarship Fundraising Efforts

FAR scholarships are only possible because of the contributions of individuals and organizations in the community. We work hard year-round to generate scholarship funding so that every client who needs financial help can get it. While we recognize that recipients of scholarships are themselves seldom in a position to contribute, they can help FAR in other ways. In particular, scholarship recipients can support FAR’s fundraising efforts by reaching out for contributions from family members and friends—people who often understand both the value of FAR and its scholarship program as well as anyone. This may mean bringing them to a FAR event, like the FAR Friends Gala, sending them FAR’s Annual Appeal mailer with a personal note or inquiring with an employer about corporate donations.

The FAR staff is ready to help. For more information, please contact Pamela Ayres in the FAR office.

*Please note that scholarships follow FAR’s Fiscal Year (July through June), not the Calendar Year or Academic Year (September through August).
