“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?”

 – Martin Luther King, Jr.

FAR relies on volunteers to assist with programs, summer camps, special events and administrative projects. All volunteers will undergo a background check. Once the background check clears, the Director of Volunteers will contact you via phone or email and discuss upcoming opportunities. All NEW camp volunteers will undergo a phone/zoom interview with the Director of Volunteers.

Interested in volunteering for FAR’s summer camps?

FAR has 3 different summer camp opportunities and volunteering looks different for each of them. *If you are interested in volunteering for a summer camp, indicate that on the application in “where would you like to volunteer” on “other” and fill in what camp you would like to volunteer for.*

Camp Sing Out is a music theatre camp for teens and young adults. Each camper gets a one-on-one buddy. The buddy helps the camper learn their script, musical numbers, and choreography. Other volunteers are needed to support with stage crew, art, set building, and tear down. This camp runs from 9:00-3:00.

Camp FAR Out is a Creative Arts Therapies camp for special needs children and their siblings. During this camp, one or two volunteers are placed in each group. The groups travel to music, dance, art, and recreational therapy. This is a morning camp that runs from 9:00-11:30.

FAR Explorers is a community-based camp where volunteers will travel to different destinations and help the campers with different activities.  This camp runs from 9:00-1:30.
